The Libertarian National Committee (LNC) voted on May 25, 2026, to disaffiliate the Libertarian Party of New Hampshire (LPNH) from the national Libertarian Party organization. The vote reportedly passed by a margin of 15-2 during the party’s national convention in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
The decision followed a period of ongoing disagreement between national party leadership and the New Hampshire affiliate regarding political strategy, messaging, and the role of the national organization. According to reports, LPNH Chairman Jeremy Kauffman had campaigned for national party leadership while advocating significant changes to the structure and function of the Libertarian National Committee.
During convention proceedings, Kauffman argued that New Hampshire Libertarians had achieved success through a different approach than that employed by the national party. He maintained that New Hampshire has become a strong center for libertarian activism and political engagement.
National party leaders cited longstanding disagreements over policy positions, endorsements, and organizational direction as reasons for the disaffiliation. In response, Kauffman criticized the decision and stated that the New Hampshire organization would continue its efforts to advance liberty-oriented causes within the state.
The disaffiliation marks a significant development in the relationship between the national Libertarian Party and one of its most active state-level organizations. Discussions have reportedly begun among some New Hampshire Libertarians regarding future organizational options and representation within the broader libertarian movement.
In response to such drastic, knee-jerk and pandering response by the National Organization; Liberty Crack Media has created a response of our own.

Among those responding to the disaffiliation decision was Randy Oparowski, host of the Microphone Monkeys podcast. Following the Libertarian National Committee’s vote, Oparowski sought an immediate public response from both the South Carolina Libertarian Party and the Libertarian Party of Horry County condemning the action and expressing support for the Libertarian Party of New Hampshire.
According to Oparowski, his request was met with resistance from party leaders who preferred to take additional time to review the circumstances surrounding the LNC’s decision before issuing any official statements. While disappointed by the lack of an immediate response, Oparowski emphasized that the absence of a formal statement should not be interpreted as opposition to the New Hampshire affiliate or a refusal to address the issue in the future.
Rather, Oparowski convincingly argued that the timing of the controversy warranted a prompt and visible show of support for the LPNH. He viewed an immediate response as an important opportunity to defend a fellow state affiliate during a period of significant organizational conflict and uncertainty.
In the absence of official statements from the state or county organizations, Oparowski elected to issue his own public response through the Microphone Monkeys podcast and associated media platforms. He stated that his comments were intended to reflect his personal views and were not made on behalf of either affiliate organization. In addition, he hosted Mr. Kauffman on a special edition of Microphone Monkeys on Friday June 5th and will drop for public listening soon.
Whether the South Carolina Libertarian Party or the Libertarian Party of Horry County will issue formal statements remains to be seen. Party members have indicated that discussions regarding the matter are ongoing, and future responses have not been ruled out.
However, today Liberty Crack Media stands for the open dialog and continued affiliation of the Libertarian Party of New Hampshire.
